Nepal's professional tennis player Abhishek Bastola is going to compete in the UTR Pro Tennis Tour in Japan.

Abhishek left for Noda, Japan on Friday for the tournament to be held from January 13 to 19.

Both women and men will compete in UTR Pro Tennis with a prize money of 20,000 US dollars. Abhishek will compete with Japan's Taketo Takamisawa in the men's singles of the tournament to be held at the Royal SC Tennis Club in Noda City.

Abhishek is the only competitor from Nepal who will participate in the UTR tour, where more than 3 thousand players from different countries will participate.

He played an important role in lifting Nepal from Division 5 to 4th in the Asia/Oceania region at the Davis Cup held in Bahrain last December.
