Nepal won the gold medal in the team event of the 38th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship. In the competition being held in Dhaka, Nepal has won the gold after beating the domestic Bangladesh 'B' team by 16 strokes. The duo of Sadabhav Acharya and Rahul Bick scored an even-par 288.
Sadbhav scored 3 under 69 on Thursday while Rahul scored 4 over 76. Nepal made a score of 145 in 1 over. On the first day, Nepal scored 1 under 143. It is the second time that Sadbhav has won gold for the team. Earlier, he won gold with Subas Tamang in the 36th edition as well.
The pair of Safiqul Islam and Roman Mia of Bangladesh 'B' team came second. The home team won the silver with a score of 304 over 16. They scored 154 in 10 overs. Safiqul finished the match with 4 over 76 and Roman with 6 over 78 on Thursday. The pair of Abu Bakar Siddiqui and Mohammad Sahbuddin of Bangladesh 'A' team won the bronze medal. They scored a total of 306 in 18 overs.
Nepal's number one Sadbhav Acharya has made an eight stroke lead at the end of 36 holes in the individual competition. He has overtaken Bangladesh's Mohammad Sahbuddin. Sadbhav scored a 3-under 69. Sahabuddin, who scored 2 over 74 on Thursday, is second overall with 2 over 146.
Sri Lanka's Chulitha Pushpika is in third place. He scored a total of 5 over 149 while playing 3 over 75. Nepal's Rahul BK and Bangladesh's Safiqul Islam are joint fourth with 6 over 150. They shot an even par 4 over 76 on Thursday. At the end of 36 holes, 52 golfers who played up to 29 overs made the cut.
