Prime Minister's Cup Province Women's Cricket Selection
On Thursday, Dang and Nawalparasi got off to a winning start in the first day's match of the Prime Minister's Cup Lumbini Provincial Women's Qualifying T-20 Cricket Tournament.
Dang started winning by defeating Palpa by 87 runs and Nawalparasi by 33 runs in the provincial level qualifying tournament which started at Deukhuri International Cricket Stadium in Lamhi, Dang, organized by Lumbini Pradesh Cricket Association.
In the opening match of the T20 Qualifying Tournament with the participation of female cricket players from 6 districts of Lumbini, Dang, who lost the toss and was invited to bat, scored 140 runs losing 2 wickets in the scheduled over.
Dang's Saraswati GM scored an unbeaten 69 runs as captain. Anita Chaudhary contributed 22 runs and was run out. Supriya Budha scored 1 run and Ashna Chaudhary scored 6 runs. Palpa's Rama Neupane took 1 wicket.
With a winning target of 141 runs, Palpa came out to bat in the field and was bowled out in 12.5 overs and was reduced to 53 runs. Dang's Anita Chaudhary took 3 wickets by giving 5 runs with 1 maiden in 2.5 balls to cover Palpa cheaply.

Similarly, Ashna Chaudhary took 1 wicket by giving 12 runs in 2 overs while Srishti Pokhrel took 1 wicket by giving 12 runs. Palpa players could not score double digit runs against Dang who bowled hard. Kailash Roka Magar, secretary of Lumbini Pradesh Cricket Association informed that Dang's captain Saraswati GM was player of the match in the tournament.
Similarly, Nawalparasi, who won the toss and batted first in the second match, scored 124 runs losing 6 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Captain Saraswati Pun contributed 30 unbeaten runs for Nawalparasi, while Sumnima Nepali contributed 21 runs and Sakshi Bhandari contributed 12 runs. On the bowling side, Bardia's Deepa Kunwar, Ritisa Manandhar and Vimala Magar took 1 wicket each.
Bardia, who went into batting with a winning target of 125 runs, could score only 93 runs after losing 6 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. For Bardia, Kamna Bishta scored 24 runs, Vimala Magar scored 15 runs and Pemalami Sherpa scored 7 runs.
Sumnima Nepali gave away 24 runs in 4 overs to stop Bardia cheaply and took 2 important wickets. Similarly, Shashi Pandey took 2 wickets by spending 13 runs in 4 overs, while Vandana Vick took 1 wicket by spending 8 runs in 2 overs. Nawalparasi's Sumnima, who took 2 wickets with 21 runs, became the Nepali player of the match. As part of the
competition, there is a game program between Banke and Palpa on Friday morning and between Nawalparasi and Rupandehi in the afternoon.
The Prime Minister's Cup Women's Qualifying T-20 cricket tournament will be held from January 1 at the Phapla Cricket Ground in Dhangadhi. In preparation for that, the Lumbini state level selection competition has started. Eight teams including seven provinces and one departmental team APF will compete in the competition to be held in January.
