The Secretariat of the 10th National Games to be held in Karnali Province was inaugurated on Wednesday. To carry forward the work of the 10th National in an effective manner, a secretariat has been established on the second floor of the Rakhep office building in Tripureshwar. The 118th board meeting of Rakhep held last November 21 decided to hold the 10th National Games from March 23 to 30.
Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary, President of the National Sports Council (Rakhep) while inaugurating the secretariat said that due to lack of necessary infrastructure, some games of the 10th National Games may be held in Nepalgunj and Kathmandu. However, most of the matches will be played in Karnali. He also informed that the condition of sports infrastructure, roads and hotels in Karnali province is being inspected.
Minister Choudhary said that the board meeting of Rakhep on January 3 will discuss more about the tenth national sports. Rakhep Member-Secretary Tanklal Ghising said that after the country went to a federal structure, the national sports program is also being carried out in a federal structure and said that this time more responsibility will be given to the provincial sports bodies. He clarified that along with the identity of the province, the responsibility of transport management will be given to the province itself.
Member-Secretary informed that the inauguration of the 10th National Secretariat is only the first stage of the work and the matters such as where the game will be held, when it will be held, when it will end, how much the prize will be, and how the opening/closing will be done will be announced in order.
