Nepal Police Club has entered the finals of the Madan Bhandari Gold Cup Indo-Nepal Running Shield men's volleyball tournament in Butwal.
In the first semi-final held at Ramnagar, Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-10 on Tuesday, Gujarat State Volleyball defeated India 3-1 and reached the finals of Nepal Police. Police lost the first set 25-27. However, with the second set returning to police rhythm, Gujarat had a very weak performance. Gujarat had to lose 25-14 after failing to cut 4 consecutive service outs and one service net.
In the third set, Police won 25-21. The fourth set was very competitive. Both players, who played in a tie from the beginning, could not maintain a lead of more than 2. Finally, Nepal Police won on 27 by stopping Gujarat on 25.
Meanwhile, the second semi-final match between Tribhuvan Army Club and Manimukund Volleyball Club, which was scheduled to be held on Tuesday, has been postponed due to cold weather. The match will now be held on Wednesday. The final match of the
competition is also scheduled for Wednesday. 8 teams from Nepal and India participated in the competition. The winner of the competition will get Rs.750,000, the second team will get Rs.350,000, the third team will get Rs.175,000 and the fourth team will get Rs.100,000.
