Ward number 13 has won the title of the seventh edition of the Ghorahi Mayor's Cup Running Shield football tournament. Ward No. 13 won the title by defeating Ward No. 15 by 2-0 goals in the final match held at Ghorahi 18 Nawalpur Football Ground on Tuesday.
Revan Budha and Pramod Budha scored 1-1 to win Ward No. 13.
The final match was completed in the presence of thousands of spectators. Ward No. 13 won the title by winning various matches in the tournament with a total of 39 matches. The winner received a shield, medal and certificate along with 1 lakh in cash. The runner-up Ward No. 15 received a shield, medal and certificate along with cash of 50,000. The best player of the
competition was Sugam Pun of Ward No. 13. The best coach was Iraq Gharti of Ward No. 13, the best goalkeeper was Bhim Pun of Ward No. 13, the best midfield was Pramed Budha of Ward No. 13, and the best defensive line was Ujwal Kumar Chaudhary of Ward No. 13.
Similarly, based on the games played throughout the competition, Ward No. 15 Sushil Baniyan became the top scorer. He scored a total of 14 goals. Jeevan Budhathoki of Ward No. 15 became the best forward. Among the total 18 teams participating in the competition, the disciplined team became ward number 1.
According to the annual program of Ghorahi sub-metropolitan city, all the wards except ward number 9 participated in the competition organized by city sports development committee. With the two goals in the final match, there have been a total of 188 goals in 39 games.
In Ghorahi Mayor Cup football, the first edition was won by Ward No. 15, the second and third edition by Ward No. 13, the fourth and fifth edition by Ward No. 18 and the sixth edition by Ward No. 17 Won the Mayor's Cup football title.
Earlier, Ward No. 13 defeated Ward No. 6 and Ward No. 15 defeated Ward No. 14 in the semi-finals and entered the finals. Ward number 13 has won the title three times with this year's title. Narendra Pun, Chairman of the City Sports Development Committee, informed that along with the Mayor's Cup football tournament that started in 2075, the municipality formed the City Sports Development Committee and organized the games by making an annual schedule.
