The Veterans Cup football tournament will be held from January 9 to 12 at the Fidim Mavi stadium. 7 teams from Nepal and 1 team from India will participate in the competition. The organizer Phidim Veterans Club has said that two players who have completed 38 years of age and the rest who have crossed 40 years of age can participate in the team.
Roshan Shrestha, the chairman of the organizing club informed that the organizers Fidim Veterans Club, United Friends Club Bungkulung Darjeeling, Dharan Veterans Sunsari, Dudhe Veterans Jhapa, Red Star Veterans Jhapa, Gorakh Veterans Ilam, Buddhist Veterans Panchthar and Morang Veterans will participate in the competition.
The winner of the competition costing 2 million rupees will get 1 lakh 5 thousand 555 and the second team will get 50 thousand 555 rupees. Prizes will be given to the best players in the competition. This is the second time that the Veterans Cup has been held in the district. Last year, the competition was held at the ground of Siddha Devi Mavi located in Navamidanda of Panchthar. Elam Veterans won the title in that.
