Six players from Thailand have arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday to play in the upcoming Nepal Kabaddi League (NKL).

Biratnagar Bandits have brought in Rattanakon Yotsungnoen and Nophadon Ponthaisone. Tanongsak Shreira and Chaiphone Kamuni have joined Janakpur Knights. Roengrom Chaturonfaison and Sahrat Phetchui will play for Kathmandu Mavericks.

Amit Begani, the president of NKL organizer Astronics Management, said that 5 players from Bangladesh and Kenya and 2 coaches from India had come earlier. He said that out of 17 foreign players, 6 players will also arrive soon.

The first season of NKL will start from January 17 at the Covered Hall in Tripureshwar. 6 teams from 6 cities will compete in the franchise competition. In the first season of NKL, Biratnagar Bandits, Janakpur Knights, Kathmandu Mavericks, Pokhara Lakers, Himalayan Raiders and Dhangadhi Wildcats will compete.
