Right to Protein Run Half Marathon on January 12th

Nepal Veterinary Association is going to organize the fourth edition of Right to Protein Run Half Marathon on January 12. Right to Protein Half Marathon has been held with the aim of spreading public awareness to increase access to protein products.

In a press conference on Monday, the organizer informed that there will be competition in women/men's half marathon, men's 10 km, women's 5 km, 5 km for men and 3 km for women up to class 12, wheelchair for differently abled persons and run for fun for women and children. is

Right to Protein Marathon will be attended by about 8,000 people, according to the organizers. The half marathon will start from Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar and reach Radheradhe in Bhaktapur through the same route and will end at the stadium itself. In terms of participation and prize money, this competition is the largest half marathon in Nepal. The coordinator of the organizing committee Dr. Shitalkaji Shrestha said. Santoshi Shrestha and Deepak Adhikari were the champions in the men's half marathon in the last edition.

Santoshi was the champion in two of the last three editions. Santoshi, a runner who was also present at the press conference, said that the marathon organized by an organization unrelated to the sports field was one of the best. She said that she is ready to play this time too. The

organizers have given equal prizes to men and women. Both of them who will be champion in half marathon by Karkatti will get 1 lakh 50 thousand rupees. The second will get Rs 1 lakh, the third will get Rs 70,000, the fourth will get Rs 50,000 and the fifth will get Rs 30,000.

In the 10 km open men's race, the first prize will be Rs 50,000, the second Rs 40,000, the third Rs 30,000, the fourth Rs 20,000 and the fifth Rs 10,000. Among the women, the top three finishers in the 5 km race will be awarded 30,000, 20,000 and 15,000 respectively. The fourth will receive 10,000 and the fifth will receive 5,000. Prizes have also been arranged for

students and wheelchair competitions. 30,000, 20,000 and 15,000 prizes are awarded to the top three players in the wheelchair category for women and men respectively. Organizing coordinator Shrestha informed that for the convenience of the players in this competition, water, first aid and ambulances have been arranged for emergency services at various places along the route.

About 500 volunteers will be mobilized in the marathon with the technical support of Nepal Athletics Association for this competition, according to the organizers. For that  RK Bishta of the Athletics Association informed that all the arrangements of the association are in place. Nepal Dana Udyog Association will manage the lunch for the participants in the competition.
