Batsman Mayan Yadav became the first batsman to score a century in Jai Trophy Men's Elite Cup two-day cricket. He from Madhesh Province scored 106 runs against Bagmati Province at Janakpur's Ramjanaki multi-purpose stadium on Monday.

Captain Harishankar Sah, who came as the opening pair with Mayan, scored 11 runs in 12 balls and was dismissed by Region Dhakal. Neeraj Kumar Yadav scored 17 runs in 17 balls with 3 boundaries. Shahil Patel was out for nil and Himanshu Dutt for 8 runs.

Mayan shared a partnership of 51 runs with Vishal Patel in the seventh wicket . Mayan hit two consecutive fours and a six off the ball of Sandeep and was on his way to a century. But in the 22nd over, Sandeep dismissed Vishal for a run . Mayan completed his century by playing 102 balls in the 34th over. In that sequence, he hit 12 fours and 2 sixes. Abhishek Tiwari scored 19, Rupesh Singh 14, Bhulwan Sahni scored 4 runs and got out. Sandeep took 5 wickets for 88 runs in 17 overs and Surya Tamang took 2 wickets for 35 runs in 8.2 overs 

From Bagmati, Shubh Kansakar scored 23 in 20 balls, Pratish Jisi scored 16 in 24 balls, Rit Gautam scored 25 in 17 balls, Ashutosh Gahia added 17 runs in 26 balls and Ishan Pandey was dismissed for nil. From Madhesh, Harishankar gave 14 runs in 5 overs and 3, Rupesh, Abhishek and Ranjith Kumar took 1 wicket each.

Bagmati, who started the day's match with 34-2, were bowled out for 150 runs. Ishan 9, Shubh 35, Roshan Vick nil, Uttam Thapamar 1 and Pratish were out for nil. Sandeep and Nandan Yadav shared 48 runs for the eighth wicket. Sandeep scored 33 runs off 22 balls by hitting 3 fours and 1 six. Nandan added 41 runs in the last wicket with Region Dhakal.

Reason scored 13 runs unbeaten in 23 balls. Nandan scored 47 runs by hitting 6 fours and 1 six in 55 balls. Rupesh of Madhesh scored 32 in 10 overs and Abhishek spent 25 runs in 6.5 overs for 4-4 and Vishal and Ranjitkumar took 1-1 wickets.
