Madan Bhandari wins Manimukund in Indo-Nepal Volleyball

Manimukund Volleyball Club won the first match of the Madan Bhandari Gold Cup Indo-Nepal Men's Volleyball Championship held in Butwal on Sunday.

In the first match on Sunday, Manimukund defeated Madan Bhandari Sports Academy in the first set by 25-20, 18-25, 25-12, 20-25 and 15-12. Manimukund won the first set. In the second set, Madan Bhandari Sports Academy won easily. Manimukundal, who lost his rhythm in the second set, gave an excellent performance in the third set. In the third set, the players of Madan Bhandari Sports could not coordinate. After most of the spikes were checked out, Manimukund managed to lead the points continuously. Madanbhandari was stopped at 12 points when Manimukund reached 24 points from the position of 9-20 points. 

Madan Bhandari Sports, who suffered a shameful defeat in the third set, improved in the fourth set. Madan Bhandari, who was playing in an even position, won by stopping Manimukund at 20 points in the last period and brought it to an even set. Dhirajkaji Basnet, Umesh Century performed well for Madan Bhandari Sports Academy. However, he could not perform again in the last set needed to win. Madan Bhandari Sports, who led by 4 points in the opening stage, fell behind due to Magar's wrong placement. Manimukund scored consecutive points to make it 7-4. With the change of ground, Manimukund won with the score of 15-12 by maintaining a continuous lead. Captain Lokendra Bhandari, Resham Vick and Mr. Sangam contributed for Manimukund.  

Sunday's second match will be between Gujarat Volleyball State India and Galkot Volleyball Club Baglung.  Among the four teams in Group A, Nepal Police and Manimukund Volleyball Club have won 2 matches and the host Madan Bhandari Sports Academy has won 1 match. Rukum West has lost both games. Madan Bhandari Sports Academy suffered 2 defeats and Manimukund 1 defeat. Similarly, Nepal Army Club, which is in Group B, has won 2 matches.

The departmental team APF and Gujarat Volleyball State India won 1/1 match after playing two matches. APF lost to Gujarat and Gujarat to Nepal Army. Galkot Volleyball Club, which played with Iranian and Indian players, lost only two matches. The game is being conducted in Leaguecom Knockout. 8 teams from Nepal and India are participating in the competition which will last until 24th of January.
