NNIPA Best Award to Vijay and Erica

Usu's Vijay Sinjali and karate's Erica Gurung have won the best sportsperson award at the 19th NNIPA Sports Awards-2080.

Victory in men and Erica in women won Rs 1 lakh each. The award was given in a program organized by the Nepal National and International Athletes Association (NNIPA) at Manmanju Mandir Hata in Tarkeshwar Municipality on Saturday. Both of them became the best player of the year in their game. Ashwin Raut of Taekwondo and Manmati Bishta of Kabaddi were awarded with

talented player award. Both got 50,000 each with a trophy. Taekwondo's Palesha Gobardhan was awarded the best sportsperson of the year. She got 15 thousand rupees along with the award.  

Gajraj Joshi was honored with the ideal sports personality, Raghuraj Vant of athletics and Sarita Shrestha of our sports and news agency Nepal was honored with the NNIPA sports journalism award. Both got a prize of Rs 35,000 each with a certificate of appreciation.

Apart from that, players of 29 different sports received the best player of the year award. According to the Sports Association, the award was given based on the performance of Nepal in the 19th Asian Games.

Archery's Yogendra Sherchan, Athletics' Santoshi Shrestha, Badminton's Prince Dahal, Basketball's Vijay Burja, Boxing's Chandra Bahadur Thapa, Canoeing's Ganesh Gurung, Cricket's Kushal Mall, Cycling's Usha Khanal, Dance Sports' Shyam Maharjan, E-Sports' Courage Bhandari, Fencing's Rajendra Gajurel, Preeti Rai of football, Sadbhava Acharya of golf Player of the year in the game.

Sangeeta Chaudhary of handball, Vikas Bick of Judo, Manmati Bishta of Kabaddi, Erica Gurung of Karate, Pujan Phewali of Rugby, Vipesh Khadka of Shooting, Swasthani Shrestha of Squash, Alexander Shah of Swimming, Ivana Thapa of Table Tennis, Ashwin Raut of Taekwondo, Nishan Shrestha of Tennis, Shrebi Maharjan of Triathlon. , volleyball player, Vidya Rai of weightlifting, Suresh Chunara of wrestling and Vijay Sinjali of USU were the sportsmen of the year. All the best got 10,000 with a trophy. The best and most talented player award was given from among these players.

They were awarded by National Sports Council (Rakhep) member-secretary Tanklal Ghising, local organizer Tarkeshwar Municipality Mayor Krishnahari Maharjan and others. It was informed in the program that Banepa Municipality will be the local organizer of the next edition.
