Nepal Police won the first match of the Madan Bhandari Gold Cup Indo-Nepal Men's Volleyball Championship in Butwal on Saturday. In the cold weather of Butwal since this morning, Nepal Police Club defeated Manimukund in a set of 3-1.
In Saturday's match, Nepal Police Club won by 25-15, 20-25, 25-20 and 25-18 sets. Police won easily in the first set. Manimukund's players could not coordinate. In the second set, Mani Mukund became comfortable after some police services failed to cross the net. After the second set was won by Mani Mukund, the players of the Nepali Police became restrained.
The third set was very competitive. Mani Mukund, who was playing in an even position, lost his rhythm after the 15th point. Nepal Police's spy duo Ravin Chand and Sanjuvikram Shah did not waste any chance. None of Ravin Chand's spikes went to waste.
It was easy for Nepal Police to win in the third and fourth sets. The second match on Saturday will be between Gujarat State Volleyball and APF and the third match will be between Tribhuvan Army Club and Galkot Volleyball Club.
Among the four teams in Group 'A', Nepal Police won 2 matches, Mani Mukund and the host Madan Bhandari Sports Academy won 1/1 match. Rukum West has lost both games. Madan Bhandari Sports Academy and Manimukund have lost 1/1.
Similarly, Nepal Army Club and APF in group 'B' have won 1/1 match, while Gujarat State Club India and Galkot Volleyball Club have lost 1/1. 8 teams from Nepal and India are participating in the competition which will last till 24th of January.
