National eSports in February

According to the annual calendar of E-Sports Association of Nepal (Ishan), the second e-Sports National Championship will be held in the second week of February.

The championship to be held in Kathmandu from February 8 to 10 includes 6 categories of e-sports including e-Football, Mobile Legends, PUBG Mobile, Dota-2, Valorant and Cos-Play. Ishan president Anjan Dhamala informed that the selection stage matches of the

competition will be played online while the final stage matches will be held physically at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu. In the final stage, 8 players will compete in e-football. 16 teams will compete in PUBG, 2 in Mobile Legends, 4 players each in Dota 2 and Valorant.

Ishaan has signed a three-year contract with Supply Unlimited for the management and marketing of the tournament. According to the agreement, Nepal Pledge will manage and market the entire competition under the supply line.

President Dhamala of Ishan and Managing Director of Nepal Pledge Uzenlal Shrestha exchanged the contract regarding the championship project. Chairman Dhamala said that cooperation with Nepal Pledge will be beneficial in the development of e-sports. He said, 'E-Sports has become a game that generates a lot of revenue in the world. Nepal Pledge, said that this will prove to be a milestone in the history of Nepali e-sports. We are determined to advance the e-sports community in any way possible. He said that there is a plan to develop online gaming culture in Nepal and bring it to a position where gaming is also a career in the future. The total prize money of the

championship is 2.5 million, said the general secretary of Ishan, Pawan Karki. Players who want to participate in the championship will be able to register their name for free through the Pocket app from December 20. Uzenlal Shrestha informed that the total budget for the championship is 37 million.

For this championship, Ishaan has appointed Nischal Basnet, a film director and e-gaming promoter, as the brand ambassador. Director Basnet said that e-sports is not only an online game but also a powerful means of representing the nation, so all sectors should cooperate.
