Gujarat Volleyball State India and Tribhuvan Army Club won comfortably in the second and third matches of the Madan Bhandari Gold Cup Indo-Nepal Men's Volleyball Championship held in Butwal on Saturday. Gujarat defeated departmental team APF and Tribhuvan Army defeated Galkot Volleyball Club.
APF, who won the first set, was stopped in the next three sets by embarrassing points. Gujarat, playing from 'B' pole, defeated APF 21-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-18.
Gujarat was defeated by Tribhuvan Army Club on the second day of the tournament. Gujarat, who played two matches against the departmental team, won easily against APF. The Gujarat players, who were playing on the indoor ground, found it difficult in the initial competition. However, they improved a lot in the match against APF on Saturday.
On Saturday, the sun was not shining on the playground at Ramnagar in Butwal. Even in bitter cold, Gujarat kept the game in rhythm.
Similarly, in the third match, Tribhuvan Army Club won easily. In the competition with Galkot Volleyball Club, Tribhuvan Army Club won the second victory of the tournament by losing in straight sets of 25-21, 25-23 and 25-19. The players of Galkot, who competed with 4 Iranian and 1 Indian players, could not perform well on Saturday.
Even though Iranian player Movin Hussain and Indian player Vishnu played excellently, they could not give victory to Galkot. Most of the services of the Iranian player Movin and Spike Galkot were creating opportunities to add points. The Iranian player Movin, who is playing from Galkot, is becoming the favorite of the audience of the tournament.
The army players who competed against the team with foreign players did not miss any chance they got. Army's Dhan Bahadur Bhatt, Dhanpati Kunwar, Durga Mahato, Durga Khadka, Saran Somari performed well. With Durga's coordination, Dhan Bahadur turned every chance he got into points.
Manimukund Volleyball Club and organizer Madan Bhandari Sports Academy and Gujarat Volleyball State and Galkot Volleyball Club will be held on Sunday, said Dhruv Acharya, president of Madan Bhandari Sports Academy.
