Army made a winning start in the second phase of the ANFA Women's League on Thursday. Army defeated Bagmati 2-0 in the first match of the second round at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato. Both the goals of the game were in the name of Vimala Chaudhary.
With this victory, the army has also presented its claim. Winger Vimala scored one goal in each half. She scored the first goal in the 25th minute. Vimala opened the account of the goal when the opposing goalkeeper came forward.
She added the second goal with a header in the 71st minute. Sapna Lama's corner was converted into a goal by Vimala. There are five teams in the second round. The top five teams in the first round have decided to travel to the second round.
Bagmati was in sixth place in the first round. But after Koshi, who was in fifth place, withdrew his name from the competition due to financial reasons, Bagmati got a chance. There will be a match between Police and Walling on Friday.
