The Madan Bhandari Gold Cup Indo-Nepal Running Shield men's volleyball tournament begins on Wednesday. The trophy was announced at a press conference in Butwal on Tuesday. Prime Minister and Patron of Madan Bhandari Sports Academy KP Sharma Oli will inaugurate the competition, which has a prize of 7 lakh rupees.
Dhruv Acharya, president of the academy, said that 8 teams from Nepal and India will participate in the competition along with departmental teams. The runner-up will receive Rs 350,000, the third runner-up Rs 175,000 and the fourth runner-up Rs 1 lakh. The best player will get 25,000 and the best in the category will get 10,000.
Madan Bhandari Sports Academy's 16th Foundation Day Tournament is organized by the Academy, Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club, APF Club, Manimukund Volleyball Club Butwal, Galkot Volleyball Club, Rukum Paschim Volleyball Training Center and Gujarat State Volleyball Association (India). The organizer said that he will participate.
Galkot volleyball team includes 4 Iranian players. Chairman Acharya said that 11.1 million 60 thousand rupees will be spent on the competition which will last until December 24 and efforts are being made to raise this amount from the National Sports Council, the state government, the local level and various professional associations.
