Madan Bhandari Gold Cup Indo Nepal Running Shield men's volleyball tournament will be held in Butwal from Wednesday. The trophy was announced at a press conference in Butwal on Tuesday of the competition.

Politburo member of UML and former Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Leela Giri announced the trophy. The trophy of the competition organized by giving priority to sports tourism also has the image of Buddha's birth place Lumbini, Lumbini's Ashoka pillar and Mayadevi temple . 'This trophy will help to promote tourism and make Lumbini known to the world,' said Giri, the former chief minister of the province, 'Sports is a genre that teaches discipline and gives birth to new talent.' Patron of Sports Academy KP Sharma Oli will inaugurate. Academy president Dhruv Acharya said that 8 teams from Nepal and India along with departmental teams will participate in the competition. "After completing all the preparations for the project, we have announced the trophy," he said, "the winner of the competition will receive 7 lakh, the runner-up will receive 350 thousand, the third will receive 1 lakh 75 thousand, the fourth will receive 1 lakh, shield, medal and certificate for the best players." He said that 25,000 and 10,000 rupees for legislative awards.

Madan Bhandari Sports Academy, Nepal Army, Nepal Police Club, APF Club, Manimukund Volleyball Club Butwal, Gujarat State Volleyball Association (India), Galkot Volleyball Club and Rukum Paschim participated in the tournament organized on the occasion of the 16th foundation day of Madan Bhandari Sports Academy. The organizer said that the volleyball training center will participate. Galkot volleyball team includes 4 Iranian players . President Acharya said that 10 million 10 lakh 60 thousand rupees will be spent on the competition which will be conducted till December 24 and efforts are being made to collect this amount from the National Sports Council, State Government, local level and various professional organizations. The competition will be conducted on the basis of league and knockout. In the

competition, the first athletics coach of 2026, Madhushamsher Rana will be honored with cash, South Asia's record runner Baikunth Manandhar will also participate. Madan Bhandari  Sports  Head of Publicity Department of Madan Bhandari  Academy Amrita Anmol said that on the occasion of its establishment day, the academy will start the volleyball tournament from Butwal and conduct other games in different places. "There will be competitions in Futsal, Taekwondo, Table Tennis, Basketball, Football, Full Contact, Karate, Wrestling, Badminton, Cricket, Physical Fitness, Road Race, Chess, Archery, Kabaddi, Chelo and Hockey," she said. After the Indo-Nepal Running Shield men's volleyball tournament, we are also preparing to conduct China-Nepal football.'  She said that a temporary parapet that can hold nearly 3 thousand spectators has been constructed at the Ramnagar Maidan located in Butwal sub-metropolis-10, where the
