Church Boys United Club won the eleventh Falgunanda Gold Cup football tournament. Church Boys lifted the Falgunand Trophy after defeating A Division rivals Machindra Football Club 5-4 in a tiebreaker.
The decision was taken by tiebreaker after both teams scored 2-2 in the scheduled 90 minutes. Church Boys' Suzan Dangol, Rohan Karki, Tshiring Lama, Ekraj Budhathoki, Fakunle Awayemi scored goals. Machindra's Sameerraj Thokar, Saurabh Subba, Sanish Shrestha and Devendra Tamang scored goals. Dayanand Ingwam's shot was saved by Church Boys' keeper Krishal Moktan and Machindra finished as runners-up.
In the 45th minute of the game, Biju Bhujel of Machindra opened the team's account with a goal, but within two minutes, Sameer Tamang scored a goal in the injury time to equalize the game. Church Boys' Chiring Lama scored the second goal in the 78th minute. Machindra's Sanish Shrestha scored a goal in the 88th minute to tie the game. The match was then decided by a tiebreaker.
Church boys received a prize of 10 lakh 555 rupees with a trophy, while runner-up Machindra got 5 lakh 555 rupees. Sameer Tamang of Church Boys was the best player. He scored 6 goals in the game and became the highest scorer. He received 15,000 as a prize along with an EV scooter.
Church Boys' Krishal Moktan was the best goalkeeper, Devendra Tamang was the best defender, Dipesh Gurung was the best midfielder, Suman Shrestha was the best coach. Everyone got 10,000 prizes. Viju Bhujel of Machindra was awarded the best player player and Sanish Shrestha of Machindra was awarded the man of the final and Manish Chhetri of the organizer Phidim Sporting Club was awarded the rising player.
