Sumhatlung mini marathon title was won by Pratap Limbu of Phidim-10 of Panchthar and Pushpa (Fungnara) Sherma of Miklajung of Panchthar won the men's title. In the marathon held in Phidim, Pratap completed the prescribed distance of nine and a half kilometers in 26 minutes and 30 seconds.
In the men's competition, Amir Tengbung of Tapjejung Maivakhola Rural Municipality-6 finished the race in 27 minutes and Ajit Kumar Yadav of Rajviraj of Saptari came third in 27 minutes and 27 seconds.
Pushpa completed the women's 5.5 km distance in 21 minutes and 27 seconds. Nunkala Rai of Sankhuwasabha Khandbari was second and Savita Rai of Fidim-1 of Panchthar was third. Noonkala finished third in 22 minutes and Savita in 23 minutes 50 seconds. 26 male and 11 female players participated. 30, 20, and 10,000 respectively for the men's first to third place and 15, 10 and 5000 cash prizes for the women's first to third place respectively received trophies, medals and certificates.
The marathon started from Sumhatlung Gadhi, a historical place located in Fidim Municipality-4, and ended at the Gadhi Temple via Campusmode-Jorsal, Pallottar Bus Park, Sambarde, District Police Office and Welfare Hill.
This is the seventh edition of the mini-marathon that is being organized on the occasion of the Chasok Mela in Fidim on the occasion of Undhauli, the great festival of the Kirat community. The winners were awarded by Mayor Mitra Prasad Kafle and Deputy Mayor Radhakrishna Neupane of Fidim Municipality.
