Sangharsh Sporting Club Ukalipani won the title of the late Padma Bahadur Gurung Memorial Knockout Football Tournament organized on the occasion of Tamu Lhosar festival.
In the final match held on Monday in Fungling municipality-6 Lakshmitar, Sporting Club won the title by defeating friends youth club by 4-2. Along with the title, he got 111,000 rupees and the runner-up friends youth club got 51,000 rupees. Captain Ashish Limbu scored goals in the 13th and 18th minutes of the game for the
struggle. Friend Manjit Limbu scored the first goal in the 28th minute. However, in the 34th minute, Dipesh Limbu scored the third goal to strengthen the lead. The second goal was scored in the 40th minute by Suplojna Limbu of Sahitabhai Yuva Club. In the 44th minute, Savin Tamang of Sangharsh added the fourth goal, and Sangharsh Sporting Club won 4-2 overall.
The tournament was organized by Taplejung Sporting Club in coordination with Tamu Hyul Choj Dhin Gurung National Council. Bal Bahadur's family provided financial support for the tournament.
