Both rival Church Boys United Club and Machindra Football Club have claimed that they are ready to win the title in the final of the 11th Falgunanda Gold Cup on Monday. In the ongoing competition in Fidim, the coaches of both teams recognized the weaknesses of the competing teams and claimed to win the title by playing strategically.
Among the title contenders were Church Boys 079 A Division League winners and Machindra Football Club runners-up. Church Boys United defeated the hosts Phidim Sporting Club in the semi-finals and Machindra claimed the other title against Newroad Team.
Church Boys, who won the Jhapa Cup title last week, are confident of winning the title in Panchthar as well. Church Boys United coach Suman Shrestha said Panchthar came for the title. Although Machindra is a good team, they claimed to win the Jhapa Cup title last week as well as being runners-up in Eelam.
The coach of Machindra, Santosh Neupane, claimed that his team's preparation is good and the experience of his players on the field is good, so they will win the trophy and the award. Machindra's captain Vishal Shrestha believes that his players will have the support of the audience as their players have performed well in both matches.
. The captain of Church Boys United, Ekaraj Budhathoki, expressed his belief that the team is in rhythm and will continue to win the title as the recent performances have been good.
The winner of the Gold Cup will get 10 lakhs in cash and the runner-up will get 5 lakhs in cash. Similarly, the best player of the Gold Cup will receive an electronic scooter. 10 teams from India along with Nepal's A division and departmental teams participated in the tournament which started on 6th of January.
