Nepali martial arts player Bhupendra Gurung has been honored with 4000 US dollars in cash by two separate organizations in America. Bhupendra, who won 1 gold and 3 silver medals in two different competitions in America, was honored.

Tamu Parivar Award was given to Bhupendra with 3000 US Dollars in a program organized by Tamu Parivar New York to celebrate Lhochar 2081. Bhupendra was presented with the award along with cash by Steven Ragh, New York Assembly Member District 30, and Manitadevi Gurung, President of Tamu Parivar New York Inc.

Birendra Gurung, the proprietor of Happy Kitchen Restaurant in New York, presented Bhupendra with a certificate of 1,000 US dollars. Bhupendra won 1-1 gold and silver medals at the 6th NL Bucks County Winter Martial Arts Championship in Newtown, Pennsylvania on December 8. He had previously won 2 silvers at the 15th Golden Dragon Championship held in California on November 9.
