Jeevan Ram Shrestha has been elected as the President of Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) for the third term. He was elected for the third term in a row after receiving 100 percent of the 20 votes cast in online voting on Saturday.
Among the 19 members of the working committee of NOC, the election was held only for the post of chairman. According to NOC, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) was also included in the online voting. The registration of candidacy in the election was also done online.
In this election, some voters, including the presidential candidate and outgoing general secretary Nilendraraj Shrestha, did not participate in the voting. 27 union representatives have voting rights in NOC.
NOC has disobeyed the order of the Supreme Court during the election. Earlier, the court had ordered not to hold the election.
