Machindra Football Club has reached the finals of the Falgunanda Gold Cup football tournament in Phidim. Machindra Club came close to winning the title of the eleventh edition by defeating their A division rival NRT 1-0.
The goal scored by Dayanand Englabang on behalf of Machindra in the semi-final at Phidim Mavi ground on Saturday was enough. He scored in the tenth minute of the game. In response, NRT could not return the goal. However, the team missed the opportunity to score.
Machindra's Debendra Tamang was declared man of the match. He got 10,000. Machindra will play against Church Boys Club for the title on Monday.
The winner will get Rs 10 lakh 555 and the runner-up will get a prize of Rs 5 lakh 555, said Dipendra Thapamgar, the chairman of the organizer Fidim Sporting Club.
