In the 7th Tulsilal Smriti Club Team Chess Championship being organized by Lalitpur Sports Club, Lalitpur Mahanagar team scored 8 points and took a single lead on Friday. Mahanagar team managed to win over the two-time champion Thapathali Chase Park in the fourth round.

In the first board, Rupesh Jaiswal defeated Rajendra Rajbhandari between two FMs. Abhik Shah, who is playing the best game in the fourth board, won against the women's national champion Sindira Joshi.   

In the second board, Purushottam Silwal, an emerging player from the metropolis, drew with Thapathali's Sushil Chaudhary. In the third board, FM Kshitij Bhandari and Ashish Phuyal ended the match with a draw.

In the club team competition where the highest prize money will be awarded, Thapathali Chase Park is in second place with 6 points. Dolakha Chess Home, the winner of the last edition, is in the third position with the same 6 points.

Dolakha District Intelligence Association, Koshi Pradesh Intelligence Association, Kathmandu Chess Club, host Lalitpur Sports Club, Lalitpur Mahalakshmi Municipality, Kaski District Intelligence Association, which have maintained the possibility of entering the knockout equation, have scored the same 5 points.
