Church Boys Club, Kathmandu has entered the finals of the ongoing Falgunanda Gold Cup in Phidim. Church Boys reached the finals of Falgunand Gold Cup after defeating the host Fidim Sporting Club 3-1 in the semi-final held on Friday.
Dinesh Serma of Phidim Sporting opened the scoring for the team in the 43rd minute. After 3 minutes (injury time), Samir Tamang of Church Boys returned the goal.
Even though it was tied 1-1 before the break, Fidim's players were under pressure the whole time after the break. Armand Weidom, a foreign player who played for the Church Boys, scored the second goal in the 63rd minute to give the team the lead.
In the 85th minute, another foreign player, Fofona Awayami, who played from Church Boys, scored the third goal and the host team's dream of reaching the final ended.
Church Boys' Fofona Abayami was declared Man of the Match and was awarded with 10,000 cash. The final match of the semi-final stage is scheduled to be played between New Road Team (NRT) and Machindra Club Kathmandu on Saturday.
