New Horizon English Boarding School has won the title of the 10th district level Everest Cup girls volleyball tournament held in Butwal.
New Horizon won the title after beating three dozen schools across Rupandehi district. He won the title by defeating Kalika Humanities Secondary School in a set of 3-0. Along with the title, New Horizon won 30,000 rupees, a shield and a certificate.
In the same competition, Kalika Humanities, who came second, received 20,000 cash, a shield and a certificate. Kuvarvarti English School won the third place in the competition. Kuvarvarti defeated Everest English Boarding School in 3-2 sets and won the third place. Sports coordinator Arjun Ghimire informed that Kunwarvarti received 10,000, shield and certificate. In the
competition, Pratima Regami of New Horizon, Best Setter of New Horizon, Pratibha Chaudhary of New Horizon, Rajni Tharu of Kunwarvarti, Best Blocker, Dumisara Saru of New Horizon, Best Spiker, Ashma Chaudhary of Livero Kunvarvarti and Best Player of New Horizon received the award. Ghimire also said that Uday Bam Mall of New Horizon was awarded as the outstanding trainer. Distributing prizes to the winning schools and best players in the
competition, Madhav Banjade, head of the district education coordination unit, said that the role of institutional schools is incomparable not only in education but also in extracurricular activities including sports. He said that along with teaching and learning, students should be equally involved in other activities, which will help them in their physical and mental development.
