Nepali golfer Sadbhav Acharya, who created history by winning the U-21 title in the Junior Tour Europe Grand Final of Faldo Series last month in Abu Dhabi, UAE, was honored on Tuesday. Nepal Golf Association honored Sadbhav with 75 thousand rupees.
This is the first individual title won by Nepal's number one amateur golfer Sadbhav in a foreign land. At the Al Ain Equestrian Shooting and Golf Course, Sadbhu won the title with a score of 5 under 205. In that sequence, he beat Denmark's Victor Kofford Uslen by 2 strokes.
Member Secretary of National Sports Council Tanklal Ghising, President of Golf Association Tasi Ghale, Senior Vice President Pavitra Kumar Karki, Treasurer Kisan Kumar Agarwal and others handed over copper notes and cash to Sadbhav. President Ghale said that he believes that harmony will do better in the next Asian Games and that it will help the upcoming Olympics as well.
Member Secretary Ghising said that the golf association is doing well and that golf is also included in the mission 2026 and said that the council's support and assistance to golf will continue. Sadbhav expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported him for his success. He won the title at the recently concluded Surya Nepal Kathmandu Open by playing 15 under, breaking the 30-year-old record.
