The 19th edition of NNIPA Sports Awards will be held on December 20. Nepal National and International Athletes Association (NNIPA) has informed that this time it will be held at Manmaiju Mandir Hata in Tarkeshwar municipality of Kathmandu.
NNIPA has entered into an agreement with Tarakeshwar Municipality for this year's edition of the award, which is being held at a different location every year. Tarakeshwar mayor Krishnahari Maharjan and NNIPA president Deepak Shrestha signed the agreement on Monday. Awards will be given to 36 people in various categories.
In the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China, the players of each of the 29 sports in which Nepal participated will be awarded as player of the year. The players who will be honored on the recommendation of the relevant sports association will receive 10,000 prizes each.
From that, 1-1 male/female players will be awarded the best player award . They will get one lakh each. Similarly, 1-1 male/female players will get the talented player award . They will get 50,000 each.
A seasoned sports personality who has contributed to sports for a long time will be honored with Gajraj Adarsh Sports Personality. The NNIPA Sports Journalism Award will honor a sports journalist. 35,000 will be awarded to the honorees of both categories. A player from Para will receive the Best Para Player of the Year award. According to the organizer, the Para player will be awarded with 15,000.
