Machindra Football Club has entered the quarter finals of the 11th Falgunanda Gold Cup held in Kathmandu Fidim.

By defeating the rival Jhapa 11 with a 5-0 goal difference, the club has secured its trip to the quarterfinals. Biju Bhujel scored 2 goals in Machindra's victory.   Devendra Tamang opened his team's account with a goal in the 11th minute of the game and Utsav Rai scored the second goal in the 30th minute.

Biju Bhujel scored the third goal in extra time before halftime, the fourth goal in the 79th minute  Saurabh Limbu and the fifth goal was scored by Biju Bhujel in the 90th minute.

According to the organizer Fidim Sporting Club, the quarter-final stage of the Falgunand Gold Cup will start from Monday. The first quarter-final between Tribhuvan Army Club Kathmandu and the host Fidim Sporting Club will be held at 2 pm.

The eleventh edition of the Falgunand Gold Cup football tournament has started on the 6th of January at the stadium of Fidim Mavi.  10 prestigious teams from Nepal and India participated in the

competition. Among them, Karsang Football Club India and Jhapa 11 have been eliminated from the first round. The

competition will be completed on 15th of January. The organizer said that the winner of the eleventh edition of Falgunand Gold Cup will receive Rs. 10 lakh 555 and the runner-up will receive Rs. 5 lakh 555.
