The Nepali Premier League (NPL) is coming to an end today, Saturday, creating not only curiosity about cricket among the common Nepalese, but also a sweet addiction. Because of NPL, Nepali sports remained cricket for at least three weeks.

Millions of people went to the Trivi Cricket Ground in Kirtipur and watched the match live. Many times more enjoyed the NPL through television and other media. Even in the meeting with someone, the discussion was about this franchise cricket NPL. This is also the biggest match in the history of Nepali domestic cricket. The main question of

is yet to be answered. Which team will be the first champion of NPL? In the final, Sudurpaschim Royals and Janakpur Bolts are facing each other. These two were considered the best team from the beginning.

So the finale is expected to be absolutely exciting, sensational and competitive. The team that wins the title will get 10 million rupees. This is the biggest prize money ever in Nepali sports history. 51 lakh rupees will go to the second place.  There is also widespread curiosity about who will be the best Nepali player in the

competition. Because the best one player will win the car prize. As the leading contender for this award will play in the finals, all attention will also be on individual performances.

What is the 'craze' of the audience in the NPL? For the final match, all the ticket sales were 'sold out' shortly after opening online on Thursday. Even for the opening match, all the tickets were sold three days before. Spectators gathered at the Trivi Cricket Ground in the middle of the match. 

Sudurpaschim and Janakpur were in the top two positions at the end of the eight-team NPL league stage. Janakpur was in first place after the first few rounds of matches. Later he was overtaken by Far West. In the league stage, many predicted that these two teams will reach the finals.

Led by marquee player Dipendra Singh Airi, Sudurpaschim lost only one game in the league stage, which was against Chitwan Rhinos. Asif Sheikh Marki and Anil Shah captain Janakpur won 5 out of 7 games in the league stage. 

One of the two games lost was against Far West. Chitwan remained the team which defeated both Sudurpaschim and Janakpur. Sudurpaschim defeated Janakpur in the first qualifier of the competition. In that match, Sudorpaschim's margin of victory was 8 wickets. Batting first, Janakpur scored 139 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. 

Jimmy Nisam scored the highest 45 runs for Janakpur. Then Shubh Kanshakar contributed 26 runs. In reply, Sudurpaschim easily scored 141 runs after losing 2 wickets. The team completed the target in 18.3 overs. Vinod Bhandari scored 58 runs not out from Sudurpaschim. He shared a partnership of 56 runs with Saif Zaib for the first wicket. 

Janakpur eliminated Karnali Yaks in the second qualifier to enter the final. In that match, Karnali batted first and scored 118 runs for 9 wickets. In reply, Janakpur scored 119 runs by losing 8 wickets. Janakpur won by 2 wickets before one over.  The

final has been dubbed by many as the 'El Clasico' of the NPL. In Spanish football, whenever two extreme rival teams, Real Madrid and Barcelona, ​​face each other, it is called 'El Clasico'.

Following that, whenever two big teams play against each other in world sports, it is known by this name - 'El Clasico'. Due to the fact that Sudurpaschim and Janakpur proved to be the two biggest teams in this tournament, their clash has got this name. 

While talking to the media on the eve of the final, the captains of both the teams looked composed. Both did not make any grandiose claims. Instead, both of them tried to play 'mind games' by respecting each other. Dipendrasingh Airi of Sudurpaschim said Janakpur will not be taken lightly under any circumstances.

We have defeated Janakpur twice before. But saying this, we will not take it easy in the final, Janakpur is a very strong team," he said. 

Sudurpaschim easily defeated Janakpur by 72 runs in the league stage. Batting first, South West lost 9 wickets and scored only 123 runs. Opener Vinod scored the highest 33 runs.

Similarly, Saif contributed 21 runs. But this score also proved to be a challenge for Janakpur. Janakpur scored only 51 runs and got all out. Joshua Tromp's 13 runs remained the highest individual score. He was the only batsman to reach double figures. We will play in the finals with the same spirit as we entered the field against Janakpur in the league stage and qualifiers. We will give our 100 percent without the pressure of the final,' said Dipendra. 

Asif, who took over the captaincy after Janakpur's regular captain Anil was injured, also said that he will forget the past and give an excellent performance in the final.

He said, 'There is no feeling of revenge. We want to play our best cricket. Even though we have lost two games against Sudurpaschim, we are not panicking. In those last two games, our batting was not going well. We have both experienced and young batters. We think we will improve our batting in the final and perform well.' 

The result will depend to a large extent on how the pitch at the Trivi Maidan behaves in the final. Therefore, whoever wins the toss can have a decisive effect on the final.
