The organizers Himarshmi Blue and Laligurans National Academy reached the pre-quarterfinals of the first Himarshmi Cup U-19 college/school valley wide student volleyball tournament on Wednesday.
Himarashmi defeated Angels Heart by 14-25, 25-19, 15-7 and became the winner of Group 'D'. In the first match, Himarshmi defeated Ganesh College 2-0.
In the next match, Angels Heart beat Ganesh in straight sets 25-14, 25-15 and became the runner-up and reached the pre-quarterfinals.
Laligurans, who won a double, defeated Gitanjali 25-19, 25-21 and Kalidevi Mavi in straight sets 25-13, 25-23. Laliguras became the winner of Mooh 'B'.
NR College beat Orient 25-20, 25-21, Glacier beat Gramseva 23-25, 25-19, 15-13 and Gramin Multipurpose Campus beat 23-25, 25-21, 16-14 and St. Lawrence beat Mansingh Mavi 25-11 , lost 25-21.
The pre-quarterfinals will be contested between NR and Grameen, Laligurans and Angels Heart, Glacier and Orient and Himarshmi Nilo and Gitanjali. St. Lawrence will start, Jai Multiple Campus against Chanakya, Uniglobe against Mansingh and Newton against Pasang Lhamu.
