Amira Gupta in girls and Tonys Shrestha in boys have become the champions in the U-8 section of the Jayakar Memorial National Junior Tennis Tournament.

Amira beat Sahara Kayasth 10-3, 10-3 in the finals at the tennis court in Satdobato on Wednesday. Tonys defeated Kayan Challis 11-10, 9-3. In the semifinals for U-9 girls, Naira Khoden Ghale won against Amira in a set of 5-3, 4-0. Naira will play against Kunwar for the final. She beat Rajisa Joshi 4-0, 4-1.

In U-14 girls singles, Ayusha GC defeated Abhay Bhattarai 6-0, 6-0 and Anushree Dhoju reached the quarterfinals by defeating Sara Pant 6-4, 6-2 in straight sets. On the boys' side of the same age group, Asabsamrat Hada defeated Ranish Shrestha 6-0, 6-0 and world champion Dallakoti defeated D Lama 6-2, 6-0 to qualify for the quarterfinals.

In U-12 girls singles, Ayusha GC defeated Ira Khatri 6-0, 6-0 and made it to the last four. For U-10 boys, Ahan Kedia and Sahansh Basnyat won and reached the semi-finals.
