Mayor Cup Cricket in Tilotta from 10th of January

The Mayor's Cup T20 cricket tournament is going to be held in Tilottama of Rupandehi from 10th of January.

It was informed at a press conference held on Tuesday that the tournament organized by the Tilottama Cricket Development Committee and with the support of the municipality will be held at the Navjeevan Yuva Club's playground and will last until the 17th. Players from 16 out of 17 wards of the city will participate in the tournament. Chairman of the committee Arjun Parajuli said that the estimated expenditure of 10 lakh rupees for the completion of the competition. 

He said that the tournament will help to encourage the youth who are interested in the game of cricket. Lok Pun, Coordinator of City Sports Development Committee, said that ward-wise participation has been made mandatory so that players can be produced from every ward. 

He said that if the grassroots are strong, there will be no problem in the production of players. "The City Sports Development Committee should work for this," he said. He said that gradually work will be done to build a playground in every ward. He said that the winner of the

competition will be awarded 50,000 rupees in cash, a cup, a medal and a certificate and the runner-up will be awarded 30,000 rupees in cash, a cup, a medal and a certificate. 

Similarly, the player of the series, the best batsman, bowler and the best player in every game will be awarded, he said. Similarly, he said that in the extra games, games will be played between public representatives, journalists and organizers.

Ward No. 2 and 3 will face each other in the first match of the tournament, which will be held at Navjivan Khel Maidan.
