The first Himarshmi Cup U-19 college/school valley-wide student volleyball tournament is starting on Tuesday under the organization of Himarshmi.
21 teams will participate in the competition, Himarshmi's founder principal Lokendra Bahadur Khadka informed on Monday. The participating teams will be divided into 8 groups and the match will be played on the basis of league and knockout.
Principal Khadka said that in addition to appreciating the popularity of the national game volleyball, the tournament is going to be organized with the aim of producing players from the school level. He said that the competition will help identify the best players and said that the main objective of Himarashmi is to produce national players.
The top three teams have received prizes of 25,000, 15,000 and 5,000 rupees respectively. According to the organizers, about 650,000 rupees will be spent on the competition.
Himarshmika President Tirtha Bahadur Gurung, Vice Principal Narayan Sedhain, Referee Co-Coordinator Kapil JC and ACE Incharge MP Amgain announced the trophy of the competition. The game will be held at the organizer's court located in Tarkeshwar Municipality-9.
