Biratnagar Kings will bat first against Kathmandu Gurkhaz in Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket on Sunday.

Karan KC, the captain of Kathmandu Gurkhaz, won the toss and invited Biratnagar to bat at the University Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.

Kathmandu must win this game to keep their chances of making the playoffs alive. Kathmandu is in fifth place with 6 points from 6 matches. There is a provision for the top four teams of the NPL to reach the playoffs. Kathmandu will have to defeat Biratnagar by a big margin to reach the playoffs and Karnali Yaks will have to lose against Sudurpaschim Royals in Monday's match.

Biratnagar, with only 4 points in 6 games, is already out of the playoff race. The team replaced its two key players Martin Guptill and Pratis Jisi with Ismatullah Alam and Anil Kharel in the match against Kathmandu.

Kathmandu replace Raju Rizal with Shankar Rana and Nathan Souter with Dan Douthwaite .
