Tansen Cricket Club of Tansen Municipality has won the title of downtown knockout cricket tournament of Palpa on Saturday.

In the final, Tansen won the municipal level cricket title after beating Rainadevi Chhahara by 49 runs. Tansen won the toss at Tundikhel and after Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality chose to field first, Tansen, who came into batting, scored 139 runs by losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs match. For Tansen, Vishal Darnal scored 40,  Rupesh Basyal scored 35 runs, Sridhar Basyal scored 15 runs and Tejendra Birjung Ranlo scored 12 runs. Madan Nepali of Rainadevi Chhahara took 4 wickets and Amit Tiwari took 2 wickets for bowling. 

Rainadevi Chahra, who entered the field with a target of 140 runs, lost 8 wickets in the stipulated over and was reduced to 90 runs. For Rainadevi, Laxman Sarki scored 29 unbeaten runs, Milan KC scored 16 runs, Bhakta Karki scored 4 runs unbeaten. On the bowling side, Sridhar Basyal of Tansen took 3 wickets, Sagar Silwal and Shubham Bhusal took 2 wickets each. Vikram Ghimire, president of Leo Club of Palpa II, informed that the winner Tansen was given 50,000 and the runner-up Rainadevi Chhahara was given 25,000 cash prizes, medals, certificates and trophies.  In the

competition, the best bowler was Amit Tiwari of Rainadevi Chhahara, the best batsman and man of the series was Vishal Darnal of Tansen and the best catch was Bipin Bhattarai of Tansen.

Governor Purushottam Bhakta Pradhanang of Lions Club District 325P Nepal, Acting President of District Cricket Association Shailendra Bhattarai, Club President Bikram Ghimire, Game Coordinators Meghraj Basyal, Sridhar Kunwar, Sujeet Kumar Thapa and others distributed prizes, trophies and certificates to the winners and runners-up.&nbsp ;

9 out of 10 local levels of Palpa participated in the competition.
