Ajay Kumar Chauhan of Gaidhwa Rural Municipality 1 in Rupandehi is a talented cricketer who has emerged from the district. He has played many times for the U-19 and U-16 teams along with the national tournament from the senior team.

Rupandehi District Cricket Association has started giving monthly salary to Ajay who is representing the district. He earns Rs 5,000 per month. Like Ajay, Rupendehi Cricket Association has started providing monthly salary to cricket players who are active in the district. The association will pay salaries to current season 7 players.

Cricketer Ajay Rakam thinks that encouraging more players in the district like this is positive. He said, ``At least with this money, you can buy the necessary diet for playing cricket. The hassle of asking parents for money at home will be removed. I am personally very happy.'

Angela Pathak, who played from the district at the age of 12 and got into the U-19 team from the state, is also happy to get paid. "I am just getting into cricket," she said happily, "Since now I have received financial support, I have become more interested in playing." I feel proud that the players of the district also get paid.'

Rupandehi District Cricket Association established a players welfare fund last year. Association president Hari Bahadur Thapa informed that 7 players have been selected to provide Rs 5,000 per month for the year 2081/082 through the same fund.

He said, "Last year, we provided funds to 9 players," he said, "This year, due to economic recession, we had to reduce two players." However, we have moved forward to give it to as many players as possible.'' According to him, there are 2 senior players, 2 U-19 players and 3 female players among the players who receive monthly benefits. "We set up a welfare fund to protect the players," President Thapa said, "We are providing money to the players from the funds available in the fund." According to the association, in the current year seniors Krishna Karki and Ajay Chauhan have received 5,000 per month. Under 19 are Santosh Yadav and Ramesh Kurmi. On the women's side, Kriti Adhikari, Sandhya Chapagain and Angela Pathak will get facilities.

association member Pratham Parajuli has been providing the salary they get to the welfare fund for the sportsmen's welfare fund. "We are providing monthly benefits to the players with the money provided by the two ward presidents and the income received from the Ruppandehi Cricket Academy," he said, adding more donors. We are also trying to raise more funds. Working in the interests of cricket and players.'
