Church Boys Club reached the final of the second Eelam Gold Cup football tournament on Wednesday after defeating hosts Redhorse Club Eelam. Church Boys won 1-0 in the first semi-final on Wednesday.

The head goal scored by Sameer Tamang in injury time from Church Boys was decisive. He was declared man of the match. He received a cash prize of Rs 8,100.

The host team, who played the best until the scheduled time (90 minutes), lost to Church Wboys in injury time. The second semi-final will be played between NRT and Red Star Club Jhapa on Thursday. NRT is the defending champion.
