Biratnagar Kings will bat first against Pokhara Avengers in the first match of Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket on Thursday. Biratnagar won the toss and elected to bat at the Trivi Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Thursday.
Netherlands captain Scott Edwards is playing from Biratnagar. He has been brought in place of Aqib Ilyas . Lokesh Bam, the opening batsman from Viranagar, was also taking the responsibility of wicket-keeping . But Bam could not do justice to his performance in the additional role . Edwards arrived in Kathmandu just two days ago for the NPL.
Another change has been made to Biratnagar's playing XI. Anil Kharel has been played in place of Subas Bhandari. Likewise, Pokhara has changed three players from the team that played the previous match. Akash Chand, Dilip Nath and Matt Critchley have been replaced by Tritraj Das, Kiran Thagunna and Zayn Malik.
Both Pokhara and Biratnagar have won only 1 of their first 4 matches and have lost in three matches. The team that wins this match will have a chance to reach the playoffs, while the losing team will almost certainly be out of the tournament.
