Prayas Manch Nepal honored the medal winners of the International Invitational Masters Athletics Tournament on Monday.
Nepalese veteran runners won 8 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals in the competition held in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, India on November 16 and 17.
Buddhavir Lama over 65 years won gold in 10,000m race, Dharma Maharjan won gold in 400, 5,000 and 10,000m races for 50-55 years, Pushpalal Shrestha over 65 years won gold in 5,000m race and silver in 10,000m race, 50-55 years Kapil Bhatt won silver in 200m race and bronze in 5000m race and Mahendra Vajracharya won bronze in 10000m race in 45-50 years. .
In 40-45 years Rakesh Maharjan won gold in 1500, 5000 and 10000 meters race and Dinesh Maharjan in 40-45 years won silver in 5000 and 10000 meters race. Lakpa Sherpa Lama and Jaharman Gurung, who participated in the 45-50 year old 10,000 meter race, were also honored.
