Host Redhorse Football Club advanced to the second round of the second Eelam Gold Cup football tournament on Saturday after defeating 'A' Division club Sankata 4-3 in a tiebreaker.

After both teams played goalless at the scheduled time, the decision was taken by penalty shootout. The host's goalkeeper Vivek Magar was the player of the match. He got a prize of 8 thousand 100 rupees.

The second match will be between GTA and NRT of Darjeeling on Sunday. The winner of the competition, which will run until November 29, will get Rs 10 lakh and the runner-up will get Rs 5 lakh.
