Purushottam Silwal, an emerging player, has won the National 'B' intelligence competition. Youth Purushottam from Kathmandu won the title by scoring 6.5 points in the 9 round match at Bachamari, Bhaktapur.
He had 4 wins and 5 draws. Ashish Phuyal of Dolakha came second and FM Rupesh Jaiswal of Rautahat came third by scoring equal 6.5 points in the competition organized for the selection of the 25th National Intelligence Competition.
In the competition jointly organized by Nepal Buddhichal Federation and Bhaktapur District Buddhichal Association, the players who got 4th to 9th place were able to qualify for the national competition by adding 6 points. Vinay Thapa of Bhaktapur, Suroj Maharjan of Lalitpur, Dhiren Rai of Kathmandu, CM Naveen Tandukar, Premakrishna Maharjan and FM Rajendra Rajbhandari were selected.
Vinita Kapali of Kathmandu was the champion on the women's side the previous day.
At the prize distribution program, Federation President Herakazi Maharjan promised that the winning male and female players will participate in international competitions.
