Vinita won the women's chess title

Vinita Kapali from Kathmandu has become the champion of the National 'B' Chess Championship in Bachmari, Bhaktapur.

Vinita has secured a place in the 10th Women's National Intelligence Competition to be held in January. She defeated Dhanusha's Shanti Dhimal in the seventh round. She scored 6.5 points  .

Chitwan's Lakshmi Kadel was second by scoring 5.5 points. She also secured a place in the national competition. Lakshmi tied with Angel Maharjansag of Kathmandu. Isha Giri of Nepalgunj, Shanti Dhimal of Dhanusha, Danisha Puri of Kathmandu, Sushila Gurung of Parsa, Poonam Prasain of Jhapa and Angel Maharjan are among those who have been selected by adding 4-4 ​​points.

Riya Shrestha from Kathmandu finished ninth with 3.5 points. Riasagai 9 players will compete with the top three players of the previous national tournament Sindira Joshi of Kathmandu, Kritisara Adhikari of Jhapa and Pooja Bhandari of Makwanpur.

For men, after the eighth round, Purushottam Silwal of Kathmandu, Ashish Phuyal of Dolakha and FM Rupesh Jaiswal of Rautahat are ahead with 6 points each. 

Dhiren Rai of Kathmandu, Suroj Maharjan of Lalitpur, FM Rijendra Rajbhandari of Kathmandu, CM Milan Lama of Makwanpur, Niken Kusatha of Bhaktapur are in joint second place by scoring 5.5 points.

Suraj Singh of Kathmandu, Sushil Chaudhary of Dhanusha, Vinay Thapa of Kathmandu, CM Naveen Tandukar and Premkrishna Maharjan are in joint third place by collecting 5 points each.
