Nepalese players Arav Samrat Hada and Sunira Thapa have reached the semi-finals of the Pokhara ITF J-30 Junior Tennis Tournament on Thursday.

The top seeded players were surprisingly defeated in the Circuit 1 tournament at the Pokhara Rangshala Tennis Complex. For boys singles, the fifth ranked Arav Samrat defeated the second ranked Aditya More of India 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. 

The journey of Japan's Riku Higashi, the junior world top-ranked player, is over. He lost to Pratik Naveen of Australia in straight sets 6-3, 6-3. China's Hainuo Guo, ranked eighth, defeated Sourya Samala of India 7-5, 6-2 and Ashravya Mehra of India, ranked seventh, defeated Ojas Mehlawat, ranked fourth, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0. 

Sunira, ranked sixth in girls singles, defeated third ranked Arjan Khorakiwala of India 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 to reach the semifinals. Top seed Mahika Khanna of India defeated compatriot Reet Arora 7-6 (5), 6-7 (7), 6-4 in a tiebreaker.
