Saraswati Secondary School Sidhuwa won the district level football tournament organized by Private and Residential School Organization (PABSON) Dhankuta in Pakhribas.
Saraswati won by 3-2 goal difference in the tribreaker with Sitladevi resident Mavi Pakhribas who met in the final of the competition. After both teams scored equal 1/1 goals in the scheduled period of the match, the match was pushed to a tri-breaker . Siltaladevi scored the first goal before halftime. The goal was scored from the penalty shoot . Both the teams had performed a great game . Sitaladevi, who was leading 1-0 in the first half, Saraswati managed to return a goal back from the penalty again after the interval. In the tribreaker, Saraswati's goalkeeper Gaurav Shrestha saved 2 goals of Saraswati's players and gave his team victory.
1 goal scored by Saraswati Khedali for Sitaladevi was missed. However, the keeper of Siltadevi, Rojan Basnet, could not save the other goal and became the runner-up. 11 schools in the district are participating, said Durga Luintel, president of Pabson, the organizer. The
game was coordinated by Sitladevi Mavi. Niren Tamang, Coordinator of the District Coordination Committee, Gyan Bahadur Gurung, Head of Pakhribas Municipality and others distributed prizes to the winner and runner-up teams of the final game. Pabson District Treasurer Dinesh Adhikari said that the
competition was organized in the context of the regular calendar. 15,000 to the winning team and 10,000 to the runner-up and trophies were distributed to both teams. Medals and certificates were distributed to the participating players.
Similarly, the players were awarded with various awards in the competition. Earlier, a football competition was also organized between the teacher team.
