Former Indian star cricketer Shikhar Dhawan arrived in Kathmandu on Friday evening to play in the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
Dhawan, who plays NPL for Karnali Yaks, was welcomed at the Tribhuvan International Airport by the owner of Karnali Yaks owned by Himalayan Wilders and Engineers, Jhanakadatta Khanal, co-owner Ghirendra Ghimire and others.
The 38-year-old left-handed opener Dhawan has played for Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings in the IPL. He is known as the most successful player in world cricket. He won the IPL for Hyderabad in 2016. India won the ACC Asia Cup title. He is the biggest and most famous name in NPL.
Karnali Yaks, coached by Gyanendra Malla and marquee Sompal Kami, have signed four foreign players. Karnali will play Janakpur Bolts in their first match.
