During Sports Award 2081 and Sudurpaschim Province Karate Referee Seminar, Karate's historical medal winner Erica Gurung was honored with 2 lakhs.

This amount was provided by Janaksingh Khadka, a former international karate player who is currently in America. In the 19th Asian Games, Khadka has provided funds as per the pre-announcement of giving cash prizes of 3 lakh, 2 lakh and 1 lakh respectively to Nepali athletes who won gold, silver and bronze in karate. Before the

event, a rally was taken out from Shahid Gate to Dhangadhi Stadium in honor of the medal winners of the recently concluded 8th South Asian Karate Tournament in Erica and Bhutan. Players of various sports, coaches, referees, sports association officials, district and state sports employees and sports enthusiasts participated in it along with the band of Nepal Police.

The medal winners of the 8th South Asian Karate Tournament were also awarded with a prize of one lakh rupees.

On the same occasion, Sudurpaschim Province Karate Federation honored two outstanding coaches, Birendra Bahadur Chand and Lalit Khatri, and the first Asian referee of the province, Prakash Kumar Chand, who continuously trained national and international players. Lakshman Kishore Choudhary, a former Karate player and Minister of Industry, Tourism, Environment and Forests of the state, was awarded the honorary black belt third dan. Dawa Gurung, founder president of Nepal Karate Federation and president of Nepal Sitoryo Karate Association, presented Chaudhary with a certificate, karate dress and belt.

Kailali District Sports Committee for the first time awarded cash to the best athletes in 4 categories of the district. Varsha Saud, an international karate player, was declared the best among senior female players, Abhishek Pal of cricket among male senior players, Manisha Bohra of karate among female junior players and Chhatra Bahadur Thapa of karate among male junior players were declared the best.

Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah, Province Minister Lakshman Kishore Chaudhary, Nepal Sitorio Karate Association President Dawa Gurung, Kailali District Sports Committee President Lalit Khatri, Ghodaghodi Municipality Chief Khadak Rawat and others honored the program held under the chairmanship of Province Karate Federation President Trailokyanath Pandye.
