Pradeepsingh Airi is currently trying his luck in Oman's domestic tournament in his bid to make a comeback to the Nepali national cricket team. He is playing for Renaissance Challengers in the DT-10 league in the Oman Cricket League season 2024-25 starting on Sunday.

There are 6 teams in the T-10 league, the top two will make it to the finals. This will be followed by one-day, two-day and then Twenty20. Pradeep, who has been an aggressive opening batsman for Nepal in the past, will play for Renaissance in the role of wicketkeeper/batter. Pradeep has shown his influence in the first game on Sunday.

Pradeep, who came to bat in the opening, scored 38 unbeaten runs from 25 balls and hit 4 fours and 1 six, Renaissance won the match against Yallah Sabab Giants by 21 runs. Batting first, Renaissance scored 94 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the scheduled 10 overs. In reply, Yallah lost 9 wickets and scored only 73 runs. There are a total of 8 players who have played for the national team of Oman from

Renaissance namely Aqib Ilyas, Faiz Butt, Hamad Mirza, Muzaer Raza. Ilyas and other players have already reached Toronto to play against Canada and Nepal in the World Cup League 2. In their absence, Pradeep is playing as a foreign player from Renaissance.

After making a good impact in age group cricket, Pradeep made his 'debut' for the national team at the age of 18 in the World Cricket League Division 4 held in Italy in 2010. He has played 12 Twenty20 internationals for Nepal. He last played in 2022 World Twenty20 Qualifier in Oman. He was injured after the first game and has not been able to make a comeback since then.

After playing in Oman's domestic tournament, Pradeep believes that he will gain confidence for joining the national team. He says that there is an agreement with Renaissance to come if domestic competition is played in Nepal. Of course, he will return to his home country if necessary for the Nepal Premier League cricket which starts in November. He has been playing for the Nepal APF club in the domestic competition.

Sufiyan Mahmud, who is playing for Oman's national team, called Pradeep to play as a mascot. He is also the captain of the Renaissance team. Pradeep and Sufiyan played in Dhangadhi Premier League in 2018 for Rupandehi Challengers. Pradeep says that Sufiyan had called him to Oman before but he could not go due to injury.

Pradeep has two big high score records for Nepalese players. In the ICC U-19 World Cup held in Australia in 2012, Pradeep came close to a century. In the match against Namibia, he scored an unbeaten 98, which is the highest personal score by a Nepalese player in the U-19 World Cup. Even though Nepal has played eight times in the U-19 World Cup, no player has managed to score a century. Pradeep says, "I still have the personal high score of a Nepali player in the U-19 World Cup." I want a Nepali player to break this record in my name and make a century.' He scored 158 runs against Madhesh Pradesh (then Province No. 2) while playing for Nepal APF Club in the Prime Minister's Cup in 2075. Apart from Pradeep, Raju Khadka is the only person to score 150 individual scores in domestic national cricket.
